The visa requires a minimum investment of AUD 5 million in complying investments, which may include Australian securities, managed funds or direct investment in Australian businesses. Applicants are not required to have a specific business background or experience but must have a genuine intention to reside in Australia for at least 160 days per year.
Premium Investor Visa (subclass 188D)
The Premium Investor Visa (subclass 188D) is a stream under the Business Innovation and Investment Visa and is designed for ultra-high-net-worth individuals who want to make an exceptional investment in Australia. The visa requires a minimum investment of AUD 15 million in complying investments. Applicants must have a genuine intention to reside in Australia for at least 160 days per year and must be nominated by Austrade.
